Dearest Rube
Got here night before last after a hard trip from San francisco Was rather plaid (sic) out — & yesterday staid (sic) in bed a good share of the day. The boys wanted me to speake but Burt would would not let me. The papers had something about my being sick & this morning I got a wire from Edgar Lee & The Daily News so I suppose there was some fool story in the Chicago papers. I have been steadily improving ever since I left you, & today am all right & better than any time since I was sick Shall stay here a day or two & perhaps spend one or two days at Seattle & may cut out the Jackson Hole trip as I
Any how 218 — 60th is about the best place there is and your place the b best in the place.
