Monday Eve

Dearest Rube

This is my first letter this year —— pretty near. I have been worrying ever since you left fearing you were not well & reproaching myself for not forcing some money onto my favorite girl. You should have had a carriage at the depot & I did not think.

I am more than mortified that I did not.

Please write at once a line & tell me how you are. I miss you miss you — dearest
