Dearest Ruben
Perhaps you had better not come to Chicago. I may come down on Tuesday for one day, any how will come next Friday
unless you can come to Chicago. As I hope you xxx can. I am once more in hot water. Have felt that I must
take some hand in politics & say something for Harrison. the other fellows I think are bitter but I cant help
it. If any one should ask you or any of your friends any questions simply tell them that you have nothing to say. I
dont think they will — and still. Any how dearest we will be together soon & what is the difference. I know I
can depend on you & you know you can depend on me & nothing matters. But I really have no fears & dont
want to alarm you in the least only to say that much — Ever & ever yours
Clarence
